  • Not wishing to get caught out by future surprise meetings staged by the local fishing fraternity, we’ve decided to be a little proactive, and have now booked-up all our meetings up to the end of 2008.

Get your diaries out, and please make a note of the following meeting dates (all dates are the third Monday of the month, unless stated):

May 12th (this is the SECOND Monday of the month)
    June 16th
    July 21st
    August 18th
    September 15th
    October 20th
    November 17th

Please note that at present it has not been decided if a December meeting should be booked, due to most people having a pretty hectic schedule around that time of the year. If you feel we should have one, we’ll consider it. Possible dates are the 8th or 15th of December.

Due to the local fishing contingent getting in and booking up our room before we had a chance, MAY’S MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE SECOND MONDAY OF THE MONTH. This means that we’ll be getting together on Monday the 12th.

We’re still putting together a full agenda for the meeting, but so far it’s looking like this:

    8:00 - 8:30pm - Registration, subs, and general Mac question/answer session
    8:30pm - 9:00pm - Roxio Toast 9 Demo
9:00pm onwards - Undecided at present

If you have something you’d like to demonstrate to your fellow BBMUG members, please let us know!

    MUG OF THE MONTH
    Bath & Bristol Mug

We’ll always have a soft spot for the Bath & Bristol Mac User Group.

It was originally set up by Macformat’s erstwhile Deputy Editor, Russell James, but the reigns have since been passed on to other group members. It’s great to see that it’s still going strong.

“Our January meeting was a great and lively one, with even more members attending than last time”, says Adrian from the group. “If you are a Mac lover, then it’s worth making an effort to come to these meetings and share ideas, etc. There’s so much to talk about, with new Mac products being released all the time, Leopard, Time Capsule, video editing apps, and so on. The list is endless:.

“January’s meeting was only the second one I’ve been to, and already it’s something I look forward to every month”, says BBMUG member Rob Hazelby. “I’m now looking forward to the February meeting. If you know of fellow Mac users then bring them along. It’s a nice, relaxing, light-hearted and informative evening, with a bunch of like-minded individuals”.

In the group’s 2007 meetings, one of the members, who is a keen photographer, gave a talk on Adobe Bridge and Photoshop to manage and manipulate photographs of wildlife he’s taken. Another member gave a talk on how to use iWeb to create a dynamic website.

If you live in the area and would like to go along to the next BBMUG meeting, check out their website at www.bbmug.co.uk for the latest details.

Well thanks to everyone who made it along to our first 2008 meet, at the new venue.
